How-to guide: Employee Self-Service

1. Log into HR Self-Service

IMPORTANT: Before logging in, check that you are connected to a University network; this may mean logging into VPN first. A WiFi connection alone will not enable access to HR Self-Service.

Log in via the HR Self-Service landing page on Staff Gateway using your Single Sign-On.

If you have logged in before (and have completed the new starter 'tasks'- applicable to those with a start date on or after 1 November 2023), you will be taken to the Home screen within the Employee Dashboard.

If you're logging in for the first time you will be taken to a different page upon logging in - go to section 2 of this guide here for further details and instructions.

The Home screen displays basic details about your employment, including service details and your next pay day

NB The job title under 'Position' is generic, and is allocated for reporting purposes. View your actual job title in the CONTRACT section of My Profile, or click on the icon with your initials in the top right.

You must be on the University's network / VPN
