2. Complete new starter details (participating departments only)

NB Providing new starter details in HR Self-Service is only available to staff in NDM, Primary Care Health Sciences and Continuing Education

A wider rollout is planned for later this year.

 

If this feature is enabled for your department (see message above), the 'Social Hub' dashboard will be displayed when you log into your HR Self-Service account, as follows:

How to complete the 'tasks'

A list of 'tasks' related to your new starter details will appear under 'Tasks Outstanding', on the left-hand side. Please also refer to further guidance below, before completing your details.

  1. Click on the first task to open it. Read the information displayed and click 'COMPLETE', to allow you to progress to the next task in the list.
  2. Work through each task, and review and enter the details (fully and accurately), as required. Make sure you click 'COMPLETE' at the bottom of each task's screen. Further guidance about diversity details is found on the HR Data Guide webpage.
  3. Repeat until the 'Tasks Outstanding' tab is clear and all the items have moved to the 'Tasks Completed' tab.

NB Some information may already be populated (either from your applicant record or where HR might have entered this on your behalf). In such cases, please review the details and update them, if needed.

Below are tips and additional guidance on completing and navigating through the tasks in Social Hub.

  • To view the full text within the fields in each 'task'/section, hover your cursor over the field.
  • You must click 'COMPLETE' within the task in order to progress to the next one in the list. If you are unsure about what to enter and cannot find the relevant guidance on our webpages, please speak to your departmental HR contact.
  • You can come back and complete any outstanding tasks at a later time; the progress of your completed items is automatically saved.

Please also provide your previous surname when you were in this role, if it is different to your surname now.

This section applies to academic teaching or research posts only.

Please select up to five subjects (minimum of one) from the list, that you are teaching and/or researching in your role at Oxford.

If you are required to teach as part of your role, please add your teaching qualification in this section, as per the instructions on the screen in Social Hub. 

This section applies to those working in clinical/pre-clinical departments only.

In this section, please complete the sub-section(s) that apply(ies) to you. Where applicable, this includes confirming that you will not have any clinical duties.

NB If you have indicated that you have/or are due to be issued a clinical contract with the NHS (including honorary contracts) select at least one clinical specialty and one related clinical sub-specialty (medical and dental staff), or just one clinical specialty (other professions, eg nursing).
