Environmental impact assessment tool University-wide rollout The first phase of implementing the recommendations from the earlier investigative assignment to review an environmental impact assessment tool.
Rollout of the environmental impact assessment tool across the University as a key enabler to help departments and project teams understand and mitigate the environmental costs of their IT-related activities.

Cybersecurity Programme To improve the collegiate University’s ability to defend itself from, and respond to, cybersecurity threats the Cybersecurity Programme will implement new tools such as rolling out Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to departments and colleges. This will greatly improve our ability to detect and respond to malicious activity. The programme is also reviewing ways of enhancing endpoint (e.g. laptops) detection capability to be able to further improve our ability to limit damage from security compromises. To prevent data breaches due to human error, a Data Loss Prevention solution will be implemented for email which can alert users to the potential of a data breach (such as multiple email addresses in ‘cc’ rather than ‘bcc’). The ‘Oxford Secure’ campaign will also increase awareness amongst staff and students of their security responsibilities and the behaviours we can all adopt to limit the risk of cybersecurity threats. Intervention  2023-24 Approved
Identity Management Transformation programme (Phase 1) The first phase of a programme to transform the University approach to identity management, and provide a single identity management service that both meets regulatory and legal requirements and provides appropriate local control of user permissions.
The initial phase will focus on governance of identity and associated data; development of a roadmap and detailed plan.

Data strategy implementation programme A programme of initiatives to change the culture from a system-focused perception of data ownership in key systems, toward one of shared stewardship. Initiatives include updating the data strategy and maturing our data governance; investing in data skills; applying automation to data quality; creating a data warehouse; and improving our reporting tools and creating a Community of Practice around business intelligence to support departments and divisions. Intervention 2023-24 Approved
