Good health and safety prevents accidents, reduces risk to people and property, ensures compliance with statutory requirements and reduces the potential for harm to health.

The Health and Safety Management Sub-Committee commissioned a working group, chaired by Professor Mark Brouard, to examine how we might enhance our already good position in health and safety.
The primary outcome of this group was a Strategic Plan Map which identifies four key priorities – Leadership, Competence, Knowledge and Risk Management.
The map can be found on the right hand side of this page, together with a supporting statement which provides more detail.
