Message of condolence from Dr Jacinta Tan

Message of condolence from Dr Jacinta Tan, Department of Psychiatry

My deepest condolences to the King and Royal family on the loss of the late Queen Elizabeth II. She was a great monarch, in my view the greatest the United Kingdom and Commonwealth has ever had. Her steadfast faith in God and sense of service and duty was unparalleled -  to be on her feet at the age of 96 appointing the new Prime Minister two days before her death shows simply astonishing fortitude. She exhibited remarkable ability to navigate the seismic changes of a World War, societal upheaval and changes in attitudes across her lifetime with dignity, all while retaining her connection with and relevance to her people. I have so enjoyed her sense of fun in making the Paddington Bear and James Bond videos. I am proud to have been her subject. Her passing is a loss to us all.
