Estate Services is responsible for managing the University of Oxford’s estate within Oxfordshire.  There are over 260 buildings that are used for teaching, research, administration, sport, libraries, museums and ceremonial events – called the functional estate – and another 180 properties that are managed commercially, including office space, warehouses and agricultural land and property.

Capital Projects 

Manages the University’s large-scale building and refurbishment projects. 

Environmental Sustainability team 

Helps departments to reduce their environmental impact through sustainable procurement, waste management schemes, and the efficient use of energy, water, and waste – in order to reach our commitment to net zero carbon and biodiversity net gain by 2035. The team also supports sustainable travel schemes, cycle training and cycle safety. 

Facilities Management 

Delivers a safe, compliant, clean, and efficient working environment for staff, students and visitors, with flexible and adaptable services – everything from the management of buildings and managing contracts for services like waste management and catering. 

Graduate Accommodation  

Lets and manages rooms, flats and houses on University-owned sites in and around Oxford city centre, which are available for full-time graduate students. Committed to providing a secure, sociable and supportive environment for graduates engaged in world-class study. 

Print Studio 

Delivers quality printing that supports and enhances your brand. Services include roller banners, large format posters, leaflets and brochures, business cards, postcards, NCR and thesis printing plus a wide range of finishing services. 

Residential Lettings 

Manages a portfolio of properties across the city of Oxford and the nearby village of Wytham. The properties are let to the general public, academics and other members of University staff and range from one-bedroom apartments to six-bedroom townhouses and country cottages.  

Security Services 

Operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to provide support and assistance to staff, students and visitors. Core services include alarm and CCTV monitoring, security patrols and crime reduction advice, and parking enforcement. Chargeable specialised support services are also available, such as key holding, security screening, training and support for specific events.  

University Joinery Service 

Produces bespoke joinery and carpentry work for clients across the collegiate University. A highly skilled and creative team established more than 50 years ago. 

University Card Office 

Deals with the production of University cards for staff, students, visitors and retirees. 

University Parks 

Works to make this beautiful green space available almost every day for the enjoyment of members of the University, local residents and visitors to Oxford. The park boasts a choice of walks, a large collection of trees and plants and space for informal games and picnics. 

Wytham Woods 

Manages this iconic research location which is open to members of the public holding permits. The Woods are often quoted as being one of the most researched pieces of woodland in the world, and their 1,000 acres are designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
