Who we are, what we do and what we can offer to staff and student parents in terms of nursery provision and additional support
Jo Mason, Head of Childcare Services was joined by Katherine Herdt from HR and Emma Dean from Work+Family Space on Tuesday 13 June 10 to 11am to deliver a briefing on University Childcare Services and support for families internally and externally.

This session will cover childcare provision at Oxford, the practicalities of how to apply for a nursery place, the financial considerations such as how to fund childcare via salary sacrifice and other types of financial support available and the opportunities for additional childcare such as holiday clubs, camps and local playschemes.

Jo Mason is the Head of Childcare Services and Wellbeing and has been with the University for six years, having spent the previous twenty years working in academic publishing. In addition to managing the recently launched wellbeing programme for staff, Jo also works with the provider of the University nurseries, Kids Planet, in addition to a number of other childcare providers across Oxfordshire in order to provide high quality childcare to the staff and students of the University. Jo and her team are also responsible for the management of Work and Family Space, a University benefit for all employees that offers access to emergency back-up childcare and adultcare, a 'speak to an expert' phone line, and a wide range of guides and webinars.
Katherine Herdt is a Senior HR Manager at the University of Oxford.
Emma Dean is the University's Client Relations Account Manager at Bright Horizons. The University of Oxford partners with Bright Horizons to support all of our employees in all aspects of Work and Family life.
