Arrangements for Monday 19 September

This bank holiday is granted in addition to the standard bank holidays and annual leave entitlement currently in place. Most University business will not take place, and many meetings, teaching and events will be rescheduled. The Bodleian Libraries, Ashmolean, History of Science Museum, Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, the Botanic Garden and Harcourt Arboretum will be closed for the day.

In line with Government guidance, there is no formal requirement for staff to take the day as annual leave. The usual arrangements will apply for staff who are contractually obliged to work, or who are asked to work, on this day.

Staff who have booked Monday 19 September as annual leave are entitled to an additional day, to take by arrangement with their department; and part-time staff who do not work on Mondays are entitled to an additional day’s leave, pro-rated.

Staff with questions about arrangements for the bank holiday should speak to their college or department for further information.
