Shared Leadership Groups

Shared Leadership Groups (SLGs) bring together senior leaders from across central teams, divisions and departments to provide shared leadership for each professional services function. The groups are being established following the recommendations of the Strategic Review of Professional Services. Implementation is being overseen by the Professional Services Programme

SLGs have an ongoing leadership role in the end-to-end delivery of their professional function, ensuring they are effective, efficient, and aligned with the University’s academic and strategic priorities. They are responsible for leading change within their professional function, building on the Professional Services Together themes of people, collaboration and quality.

The groups have a clear role within the Professional Services Programme: identifying, assessing and implementing opportunities for improvement and efficiencies. In time, SLGs will shape how services are designed, aligned and monitored across the University, working to improve consistency and coordination, and to strengthen capability. The Professional Services Programme will play an important role in coordinating and sequencing emerging priorities and change identified by SLGs.

Two SLGs – People and Finance – are now in place, membership and contact information on these groups are available below. Further groups will be established during Michaelmas term for professional functions including Academic Administration, Digital, Estates and Research. Together, these groups will strengthen coordination, consistency and trust across the University, helping to deliver more coordinated professional services that enable Oxford’s core mission.
