Oxford recognised in National Technician Commitment Collaboration Fund Award

Oxford has been selected as one of five project teams to receive the prestigious annual Technician Commitment Collaboration Fund Award, recognising a joint initiative with Cambridge and UCL. Aligned with Oxford’s Technician Commitment Action Plan, the project - led by Dr Jenn Allen (Oxford), alongside John Nicolson (Cambridge) and Isabel Goncalves Cattuzzo and Uzma Sadiq (UCL) - promotes cross-institutional and internal collaboration to enhance visibility and career development for technical staff within large, complex organisations.  

Dr Jenn Allen commented:

“We would like to thank the Collaboration Fund panel for their support of our project. We very much look forward to working in partnership with Cambridge and UCL to deliver these events to benefit those based in large technical networks.” 

The project includes three events: a virtual Oxford event in July 2025 (outreach and community engagement), a virtual Cambridge event in September 2025 (grant applications), and an in-person UCL event in November 2025 (career development). Further details coming soon.

In further news, Dr Jenn Allen and Dr Stuart Clare, Chair of our Technician Commitment Working Group, will be presented with an Award of Impact on Wednesday 14 May to recognise the University’s continued positive progress as a Technician Commitment signatory.
