COVID Rebuilding Research Momentum Fund
A new internal funding scheme, CRRMF, set-up in response to feedback from the recent research staff survey, has gone live
The COVID Rebuilding Research Momentum Fund is open to applications with a deadline of noon on Friday 6 November, with decisions announced by mid-December. The intention is to run one call for this fund and eligible applicants from all divisions are encouraged to apply.
Small awards of up to £5,000 are available and funding can be requested for any legitimate purpose identified by the applicant that addresses a clearly identified barrier to rebuilding research momentum and demonstrates a link to career development in research.
The purpose of the scheme is to support staff whose research momentum and career progression have been significantly disrupted (by at least 50%) by the COVID-19 pandemic and their personal circumstances over a period of 3 months or more.
Prioritisation of funding bids is expected and will be based on the following criteria:
- extent of disruption experienced
- support for the further development of an independent research career
- likelihood of the funded activity leading to further external research funding, including grants and fellowships, and/or completion of significant research outputs
Funding cannot be used to support the salary of the applicant nor are retrospective payments permitted. The earliest that awards may commence is 1 January 2021.
The scheme is funded by the John Fell Fund. For more details of the fund please visit the fund website.
