Professor Irene Tracey

I am writing to let you know that David has decided to retire from his role as Pro-Vice Chancellor, Development and External Affairs at the end of Michaelmas term 2023.

David is taking up a new role for the UK government, to create and Chair the UKIFS (UK Industrial Fusion Solutions), the delivery authority to build the world’s first fusion power plant. He will continue to provide the University with support on various strategic projects until the end of April 2024.

I would like to take the opportunity of expressing my gratitude for all the work David has done in his leadership and support of this great University during his tenure. We will have the opportunity of a more formal goodbye nearer the time.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Irene Tracey
