Tracy is currently Director of Legal Operations and Business Transformation in HMRC, leading the operational teams responsible for dealing with taxpayer appeals against HMRC’s decisions. She also heads the corporate service and change delivery teams that are responsible for the smooth day-to-day running and future business change ambitions of HMRC’s legal function.
Following a degree in Zoology at St Hilda’s and a DPhil in Palaeontology at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Tracy joined the Civil Service in 1990, becoming a Tax Inspector initially before moving into a succession of other roles, supporting Government ministers in the development and delivery of their personal tax, pensions, benefits and other policies. In the course of her career, Tracy has worked in other Government departments as well as the private sector.
As colleagues will know, the post of Divisional Registrar is a crucial role, partnering with the academic Head of Division in the development and implementation of effective administrative and policy frameworks to underpin the division’s strategic academic objectives. The role also has responsibility for the strategic, operational and financial management of the division, working with key members of the divisional team and reporting to the Registrar. As the University seeks to appoint a new Head of MPLS in succession to Professor Donal Bradley, the role of Divisional Registrar will be all the more important. We wish Tracy every success.
