On behalf of St Catherine’s College, I extend our deepest sympathies to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family following the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness served as Visitor of St Catherine’s College from the College’s foundation in 1962 and continued to hold the role even after retirement from public duties in 2017. His Royal Highness visited the College on many occasions, and many members of the College have fond memories of his kindness and genuine interest in life in the College. This dedication to St Catherine’s over nearly six decades illustrates His Royal Highness’ dedication to service. The College’s flag will remain at half-mast throughout the week of official mourning and our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this most difficult of times.
